This department is dedicated to working in the areas of computation, computers and telecommunications to support the faculty in their research projects and to promote the convergence and the use of computer technology, telecommunications and microelectronics to assimilate and use them as a tool for change, a lever of modernization, an innovation agent and an ingredient of productivity.

The department has been dedicated to research, the application of knowledge and the development of human resources in specific technological topics:

• Personal-computing platforms for mobile and office applications based on Microsoft Windows , Linux and MacOS operating systems.
• Mission-critical systems based on Linux and Microsoft Windows.
• Scientific application programs for high-performance platforms focused primarily on technology clusters and supercomputers
• Converged network computing, telephony and video networks, both cabled and wireless.
• Development of academic and administrative computer systems based on web page technologies and SQL databases.
• Electronic distribution systems using portals, websites and telecommunication networks.
• Computer security systems.
• Automatic systems for updating and maintaining hardware and software.
• Electronic systems for training, advising and technical support.
