Telecommunications Engineering

The purpose of telecommunications engineering is to successfully exchange information (voice, data and video) through long distances. The Institute uses cutting edge methods in order to achieve this in an optimal way. Through rigorous understanding of how to carry out the generation, transmission and interaction of photons, electrons and radio waves, the team can design, analyze and build the next generation of devices, subsystems and telecommunications systems which are key elements of the development of the so-called information society.

Our research ranges from the simulation of ultra fast micrometric non-linear amplifiers for use in future optical networks based on packet switching, to the fabrication of educational communication satellites to train and attract students to the world of science and cutting edge technology.
