Laboratories

The focus on academic work gives a unique stamp to the Institute compared with other units of UNAM because it has a modern infrastructure of 32 laboratories that makes it the largest unit of the university in this particular area.

The laboratories, which are equipped with high-tech equipment, include about 150 working academics and a considerable number of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students who make possible maintaining the prestige of UNAM. In doing so, it fulfills the primary function of conducting engineering research of quality, originality, usefulness and carrying out highly competitive studies while preserving the national arbiter in engineering and main acting agent for the technological development in Mexico.

The proven technical capacity of these laboratories is confirmed by having received major sponsorship to study and provide technical solutions for problems faced by institutions and companies in the private and public sector:
