Eligibility of CONACYT Scholarships

The candidate's diploma must show a minimum grade point average of 8.0. If the diploma does not indicate average, applicants must ask their school for an official certificate indicating percentage of credits and general average obtained. Applicants that do not comply with the required average and are regular students in a Master's or Ph. D. program must present an official certificate of subject matters completed during the previous period, with a minimum grade point average of 8.0.

A copy of a diploma or examination certificate to prove that the applicant has obtained the degree before requesting the scholarship must be presented. In case the applicant has not obtained the degree, he/she must attach a signed letter of intent stating the date of delivery of the diploma or certificate.

In case the applicant has been a CONACYT scholarship recipient, he/she must attach a letter describing the scholarship's characteristics and proving that he/she has complied with the scholarship's purpose.

  • Proof of address: copy of a recent utilities bill (water, telephone, power).

  • Birth certificate.

  • Official identity document (passport or military service card).

  • If applicable, marriage certificate and birth certificates of spouse and children.

  • Letter of admittance to a post-graduate program.

  • Curriculum vitae.

  • Two photographs (black and white or color).

  • Letter of intent pledging to be full-time students for the duration of the scholarship.
