The Institute of Engineering has a team of specialists with extensive experience and national and international recognition. These specialists are focused on identifying, evaluating and designing solutions to problems related to geotechnical engineering using innovative and cutting-edge techniques and methods. The main lines of research included in this discipline are:

• Instrumentation and seismic response of buildings

• Experimental field tests of buildings and bridges

• Seismic zoning

• Seismic wave propagation

• Effects of conditions of the local topography and geology on the characteristics of earthquakes, experimental verification and mathematical modeling

• Study of the seismic source characteristics of earthquakes that occur in Mexico

• Study of local conditions in the generation of ground motion and vibration studies

• Strong seismic movements

• Observation, study and analysis of seismic records and methods of wave propagation analysis.
