Information technology can be understood as the set of products and processes that are related to storing, processing, protecting, monitoring, retrieving and digital transmission of information by electronic or optical means.
The development and formal analysis of this area have become increasingly important for Mexico in the last decade because of the relationship between technology and modern life.
Disciplines like electronics, computation, telecommunications and others fall within the scope of Information Technology. Research in these areas is undertaken at the Institute of Engineering.
