Electric and Computer Science
__________________________________________________________________________________
This department is formed by the following research areas:
-
Automatic Control of Complex Systems: Its objective is to study various aspects of the development of algorithms for the design and implementation of automated control schemes and online monitoring of complex dynamic process.
-
Information Technology: Its aim is to study various aspects of the development and technology for mini satellites and optical communications systems.
-
Linguistic Engineering: Its objective is the application of knowledge about language and computer science to develop computer systems that are able to recognize, understand, interpret and generate human language.
-
Power Systems: Its objective is the study of electric power grids considering dynamic aspects where power electronics control a deregulated environment. Transient models and static conditions of controllers based on power electronics and their incorporation into large electric grids are studied.
-
Modeling of complex systems: Its objective is the study of models of complex processes involving different types of variables and dynamic phenomena, such as vehicular traffic and network models.
