The aim of this unit is to evaluate patenting inventions of the academic community of the Institute of Engineering. When applicable, to give ideas during the technology transfer process in terms of intellectual property conditions and values. This unit oversees the development of technology transfer of the Institute of Engineering to the private sector.

This procedure includes assessing patenting inventions developed by the Institute of Engineering, filling-out the corresponding patent application, giving advice during technological licensing and complying of contract obligations within such transfer. Also, to find and negotiate with users interested in the technology developed by the Institute relative to products, processes or services.
