This office conducts research on instrumental systems, control and automation of processes, as well as optical satellite telecommunications. This office also works on mechanical and electrical designs for electric or hybrid vehicles.

It also investigates the use of solar energy, bioclimatic design for housing and edifications, along with the design and test of new materials, as well as transitory or permanent fluid conduction regimes are analyzed. It coordinates studies for education and energy, transportation logistics, technological intelligence and linguistic engineering, among others. The Electro mechanics Head Office provides services to the academic personnel in terms of the instrumentation and recording of experiments and their results. Aside from providing computational support for research, they operate and maintain the academic databases and the voice and data network of the Institute of Engineering.

These investigations are a reality thanks to the participation of 27 researchers, 19 academic technicians and approximately 100 students ranging from bachelors, masters and PhD levels. The personnel integrate with the departments of Systems Engineering, Mechanics and Energy, Electrical Power, and Computation and Instrumentation.
