Strategic Planning

_____________________________________________________________________________________

The main objective in strategic planning is to determine which steps to take in order to achieve certain end goals. These end goals might be associated with different areas, for example, improving the ranking of an organization against competitors or the improvement of existing conditions in the education, infrastructure, manufacturing and health sectors.

In order to achieve the latter, the activities carried out at the Institute on the subject of planning include the study of current conditions of a given issue, the development of future scenarios, the simulation of potential ideas to transform the original condition into a new desired one, the analysis of the results of said simulations, and the decision making process to select the best action.

To carry out these studies, the Institute uses a wide variety of techniques such as modeling, simulation, brainstorming sessions and systems analysis. The proper combination of these techniques gives the decision makers a practical and complete understanding of the studied phenomenon and the right alternatives for reaching the objective.
